We've done hundreds of end of lease cleans across Sunbury and Melbourne, and we know exactly what property managers and landlords look for. Here's our comprehensive checklist to help you โ whether you're doing it yourself or hiring professionals.
Kitchen Checklist
The kitchen is often the most scrutinised area during a final inspection. Pay extra attention here.
- Oven: Inside and out, including racks, trays, and door glass. Grease buildup is a common fail point.
- Rangehood: Clean filters, exterior, and underneath. Don't forget the grease trap.
- Stovetop: Remove burners and clean underneath. Degrease all surfaces.
- Microwave: Inside, outside, turntable, and vents.
- Dishwasher: Run a cleaning cycle, wipe seals, clean filter.
- Fridge space: If you're taking the fridge, clean the cavity. If it stays, clean inside and out.
- Cupboards: Inside and out, including handles. Remove all crumbs and residue.
- Benchtops: Degrease and sanitise. Check for stains.
- Sink and taps: Descale, polish, clean drain.
- Splashback: Remove grease splatters and water marks.
- Floors: Sweep and mop, including under appliances if accessible.
Bathroom Checklist
Bathrooms need to be spotless and sanitised. Mould and soap scum are red flags for inspectors.
- Toilet: Inside bowl, under rim, seat, base, and behind. Descale if needed.
- Shower/bath: Tiles, grout, glass, taps, showerhead. Remove soap scum and mould.
- Vanity: Basin, taps, cabinet inside and out, mirror.
- Exhaust fan: Remove cover and clean fan blades.
- Towel rails and fixtures: Wipe down and polish.
- Floors: Mop thoroughly, including corners and behind toilet.
Bedrooms Checklist
- Wardrobes: Inside shelves, hanging rails, doors, and tracks.
- Light fittings: Dust and wipe.
- Ceiling fans: Clean blades (both sides).
- Windows: Glass, frames, tracks, and fly screens.
- Walls: Spot clean marks and scuffs.
- Skirting boards: Dust and wipe.
- Floors: Vacuum carpet or mop hard floors. Consider professional carpet cleaning.
Living Areas Checklist

- Doors: Wipe down, including tops and edges.
- Air conditioning: Clean filters and wipe unit.
- Windows: Inside and out if accessible, plus tracks and frames.
